About the Computer Forensic Tools Survey
The effectiveness of a computer forensic practitioner is inherently underpinned by their ability to accurately and effectively utilise the wide range of tools available to them.
Today’s computer forensic tools are more varied, powerful and easier to use than ever before. However as they continue to expand and evolve, it’s worth stopping to consider just how well they meet the needs of modern computer forensic examinations both now and in the near future.
The Computer Forensic Tools Survey aims to explore this issue by identifying the relative usefulness or importance of a range of features currently offered by computer forensic tools.
The survey is independent of any vendors or resellers. It was developed by computer forensic examiners, for the computer forensic community and does not seek to highlight or promote any particular tool, method or platform.
Special thanks also to Paul Pratley of Digital Detectives for his valuable ideas in developing the survey.
